Corporations and ILLEGAL Immigration

Corporations are good. Actually, they’re great.

It amazes me that in light of history and facts that some well meaning, but mistaken followers have Socialist world-views. They’ll wear Che t-shirts (hmm…I wonder if they sense the irony of buying Che t-shirts at a local suburban mall) while extolling the virtues of Castro, Lenin and Marx.

They’re wrong to scold America for being democratic, prosperous and capitalist (and by the way, the most generous nation on earth). Do they ever stop to think why so many folks are trying to escape Socialist utopias like Cuba? Have they ever talked to Cuban refugees about their time on that hellish island? I have. I remember my barber who told me how Castro ordered the gold in his teeth pulled out before they were allowed to leave. Great guy that Castro.

But I digress…

The pro-ILLEGAL immigration supporters speak of corporations as if they were bad. No, they’re good for America and the world, even in one of the most politically corrupt, poorly run countries in the Western hemisphere: Mexico.

Corporations Are Good
In India where the average wage is $50 per month, young Indians line up for an opportunity to work in call center positions for American corporations. Why? For the money. They receive $200 per month to start and within six months, their wages can grow to $500 per month. What do these young Indian professionals do with their newfound wealth? Earn graduate degrees in real professions like accounting, engineering, and hard sciences. Some save their money to start business to gain more control over their financial futures.

The Tactic of Guilt
Yet with all the facts available of how corporations benefit humanity, the pro-ILLEGAL supporters use the idea of “evil corporations to justify granting amnesty to ILLEGAL immigrants. The argument goes something like this: corporations are bad so therefore we should give ILLEGAL immigrants…driver’s licenses, in-state tuition, social services, section 8 housing money, free education, free medical care, create a “pathway to citizenship, (amnesty) and cash. Does that make sense? Is it moral to take away resources from legal immigrants or American citizens and give them to ILLEGAL immigrants?

Of course not.

Corporation’s bad? No corporations are great. They do good for us and for the world. And corporate success is no reason to grant ILLEGAL immigrants amnesty. This is another example of the tactic of guilt. Don’t fall for it.
